Synopsis: Drama set in England in the late 19th century. The son of a prosperous but unpopular Jewish businessman trains to be a doctor. He becomes a successful medical researcher and falls in love, but things turn sour when he defies his hospital chief and accuses him of professional jealousy. He discovers many of the poor women who live by the hospital have had enforced sterilisations, and suspects his chief who has developed a passion for eugenics.
